Seemingly Inconsequential: beautiful, mundane moments in the films of Jim Jarmusch

brand development & storytelling | film photography | digital & print design

This film festival is based upon a common thread found between a select few of Jarmush's films. After reading articles and books, and watching his films, I created its title and branding. From there stemmed photography, advertising, a dvd set and catalog book, business system, tickets, schedule, promo poster, film festival trailer, website, etc.

I chose to work with film and photograph my images without using the computer to retouch. Often traveling outside of San Francisco to achieve the quality of content I desired. One of my favorite quotes by Jarmusch says, “Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination...Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic.” This project challenged me to do just that. Find inspiration in the ordinary and beauty in the mundane.
